The ductwork symptoms we hear most
- One bedroom never gets cold, the rest of the house is fine Disconnected or crushed branch run, closed damper, undersized duct to that room
- The system runs and runs but the house never catches up Major supply leakage into attic or crawlspace, leaky trunk connections
- Dust settles again a day after cleaning Return-side leaks pulling crawlspace and attic air into the duct system
- Upstairs is hot in summer and downstairs is cold in winter Poor duct layout, missing insulation on attic runs, unbalanced supply and return
- I can hear air whistling or roaring in the walls Undersized return, high static pressure, loose fittings and gaps at plenum joints
Search for it as ductwork repair or air duct repair and you land in the same place: one visit, one written quote.
Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1Change the air filter. A loaded filter starves airflow and can mimic a duct problem.
- 2Walk the house and confirm every supply vent and return grille is open and not blocked by furniture or rugs.
- 3Check the thermostat settings and swap the batteries, so you know the call for heating or cooling is actually reaching the equipment.
- 4Clear leaves, grass clippings and shrub growth back from the outdoor unit so it can breathe.

How do you find a leaky duct?
We start with your comfort complaint, then measure airflow and static pressure at the equipment and inspect the runs by hand and light in the attic or crawlspace. Loose boots, separated flex and failed tape usually show themselves once someone actually looks.
Is sealing enough, or do I need new ductwork?
It depends on what the ducts are made of and how they were installed. Sealed joints on sound duct work well. Crushed flex, rusted metal, mold-damaged liner or runs sized wrong for the equipment need replacing, and we will tell you which you have.
Can leaky ducts raise my power bill?
Yes. Air that escapes into an attic or crawlspace was heated or cooled by equipment you paid to run, so the system works longer for the same comfort. We cannot quote numbers, but the runtime difference after sealing is usually noticeable.
Do you have to tear up my ceilings?
Usually not. Most ductwork in the homes we serve is reachable from an attic hatch or a crawlspace access, so we work from there. If a run is buried in a finished wall, we talk through the options with you before anything gets opened.
How long does duct repair take?
Sealing a handful of joints and reconnecting a dropped run is often a single visit. A full replacement on a whole house takes longer, sometimes a couple of days depending on layout and access, and we will give you a timeline after the inspection.
Will fixing my ducts help with dust and humidity?
Often it does. Return-side leaks pull unfiltered crawlspace and attic air into the system, which brings dust and damp with it. Closing those leaks means more of the air moving through your house came from your house.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form and describe what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping. That gives us a head start on the likely cause.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical connections, refrigerant performance and the outdoor unit. We work the crawlspace and the attic too, because ductwork and drainage cause more trouble than people expect.
- Step 3
You decide, then we fix it
We explain what failed, what it takes to repair it, and what we would watch next season. No work starts until you say go. Most repairs finish the same visit when parts are on the truck.

Why homeowners call us
- Mixed heating is normal to usHeat pumps, propane furnaces and dual-fuel setups all behave differently in cold weather. We know how a heat pump should sound in the thirties and when the backup heat is doing too much of the work.
- We go under the houseRed clay crawlspaces hide crushed ducts, sweating lines and standing water. Comfort problems often start down there, not at the unit, so we look before we start replacing parts you may not need.
- Plain explanationsYou get told what broke and why, in words that make sense. If a repair is a short-term patch on an aging system, we say that out loud so you can plan instead of guessing.
- One crew, six statesWe serve homeowners across Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Same approach in every one: show up, diagnose properly, repair what needs repairing, leave the space clean.
- All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
- Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
