Indoor Air Quality — Book a Visit Today

We install and service whole-home air purifiers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, UV lights and ventilation on homes across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, North and South Carolina. Indoor air quality problems usually show up as dust that returns two days after cleaning, winter static and cracked woodwork, or a damp, heavy feeling in the back rooms all summer. On a visit we look at the filter and its fit, check duct leakage and return sizing, read humidity in more than one room, and inspect the crawlspace, because red clay under a house pushes moisture upward. Then we tell you what the air handler can support and what it cannot. Change your filter, then call us and we will schedule a look.

The indoor air quality symptoms we hear most

  • I dust on Monday and it is back on Wednesday Filter bypass, leaky return ducts pulling crawlspace air, or undersized filtration
  • Everybody gets shocked touching the doorknob all winter Indoor humidity too low, common with heat pumps and no whole-home humidifier
  • The back bedrooms feel damp and smell musty High humidity from oversized cooling, short run times, or crawlspace moisture
  • My allergies are worse inside than outside Recirculated dust and pollen, poor filtration, or no fresh air ventilation
  • There is a sour smell when the AC starts up Biological growth on the evaporator coil or standing water in the drain pan

Search for it as indoor air quality work or air purifier installation and you land in the same place: one visit, one written quote.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Change the air filter and make sure the new one sits flush in the slot with no gaps around the edges.
  • 2Confirm supply and return vents are fully open and not blocked by furniture, rugs or curtains.
  • 3Check the thermostat settings, including whether the fan is set to ON or AUTO, and replace the batteries if the screen is dim.
  • 4Clear leaves, grass clippings and mulch back from the outdoor unit so it can move air freely.

Indoor Air Quality — quick answers

Does a better filter fix my dust problem?

Sometimes, but not always. A thicker filter in a slot built for a one inch filter can leak air around the edges and restrict airflow. We size filtration to what your air handler can move, and we look for duct leaks pulling in crawlspace dust.

What indoor humidity should I aim for?

Most homes feel right between about 35 and 50 percent. Below that you get static, dry throats and gaps in trim. Above it you get that heavy, musty feel and a better environment for mold. We measure in several rooms, not just at the thermostat.

Do UV lights actually do anything?

A UV light aimed at the evaporator coil helps keep biological growth off the coil and drain pan, which addresses that sour smell when cooling starts. It is not a whole-house air cleaner. We are straight with you about what each option handles.

Can I run a portable dehumidifier instead?

A portable unit helps one room and needs emptying. A whole-home dehumidifier ties into the duct system, drains away on its own and treats the whole house, including humidity coming up from a crawlspace. Which makes sense depends on your layout.

Will a humidifier hurt my furnace or air handler?

Not when it is sized and installed right and the water panel gets changed each season. Problems come from neglected units leaking or running humidity too high, which puts condensation on cold windows and exterior walls. We set the control conservatively.

My house smells like gas. What should I do?

Leave the building right away, take everyone with you, and do not flip switches. From outside, call 911 or your gas utility. Once they have cleared the property, call us and we will inspect the heating equipment before it goes back into use.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping. That gives us a head start on the likely cause.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical connections, refrigerant performance and the outdoor unit. We work the crawlspace and the attic too, because ductwork and drainage cause more trouble than people expect.

  3. Step 3

You decide, then we fix it

We explain what failed, what it takes to repair it, and what we would watch next season. No work starts until you say go. Most repairs finish the same visit when parts are on the truck.

Why homeowners call us

  • Mixed heating is normal to usHeat pumps, propane furnaces and dual-fuel setups all behave differently in cold weather. We know how a heat pump should sound in the thirties and when the backup heat is doing too much of the work.
  • We go under the houseRed clay crawlspaces hide crushed ducts, sweating lines and standing water. Comfort problems often start down there, not at the unit, so we look before we start replacing parts you may not need.
  • Plain explanationsYou get told what broke and why, in words that make sense. If a repair is a short-term patch on an aging system, we say that out loud so you can plan instead of guessing.
  • One crew, six statesWe serve homeowners across Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Same approach in every one: show up, diagnose properly, repair what needs repairing, leave the space clean.
  • All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
