What the installation actually involves
We start inside, deciding where each head goes so the air throws across the room instead of into a wall. Then we set the outdoor unit on a pad or bracket, run the line set and condensate drain through a small wall penetration, and pull the electrical circuit the system needs. Refrigerant lines get evacuated and charged properly before startup. Most single-head jobs are a one-day visit. Multi-head systems in larger homes can run longer, and we tell you which before we begin.
What we check and install
Before quoting anything, we measure the room and look at insulation, window area, ceiling height and sun exposure, because BTU capacity has to match the space. Oversized heads short-cycle and leave the room clammy. We also check your electrical panel for available capacity, confirm a drain path that will not dump water into a red clay crawlspace, and look at outdoor placement for service clearance. Installation includes mounting, line set, condensate handling, electrical connection, startup testing and showing you how the remote and modes work.
How we decide it is the right call
Ductless makes sense when adding ductwork costs more than it is worth or is physically impossible. Bonus rooms, additions, converted porches and upper floors that run hot are the usual candidates. If your existing system is sound and only one area struggles, a single head often solves it without touching the rest of the house. If the whole home is uneven and the equipment is aging, a central replacement may serve you better. We will say which honestly, even when it is the smaller job.

Will a mini-split heat as well as cool?
Yes. Nearly all mini-splits are heat pumps and run in both directions, so the same unit that cools your bonus room in July heats it in January. In colder mountain areas we discuss low-temperature models and backup heat.
How much wall damage does installation cause?
Less than most people expect. Each indoor head needs one hole roughly three inches across for the line set and drain. Outside, lines run in a covered channel down the wall. No ceilings opened, no duct chases built.
Can one outdoor unit serve several rooms?
Often, yes. Multi-zone systems run two to five indoor heads off one outdoor unit, each with its own temperature setting. We size the outdoor unit to the combined load and check line routing before recommending that setup.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptom
Call or fill in the quote form and describe what you hear, smell or feel. Warm air, short cycling, a breaker that keeps tripping. That gives us a head start on the likely cause.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical connections, refrigerant performance and the outdoor unit. We work the crawlspace and the attic too, because ductwork and drainage cause more trouble than people expect.
- Step 3
You decide, then we fix it
We explain what failed, what it takes to repair it, and what we would watch next season. No work starts until you say go. Most repairs finish the same visit when parts are on the truck.

Why homeowners call us
- Mixed heating is normal to usHeat pumps, propane furnaces and dual-fuel setups all behave differently in cold weather. We know how a heat pump should sound in the thirties and when the backup heat is doing too much of the work.
- We go under the houseRed clay crawlspaces hide crushed ducts, sweating lines and standing water. Comfort problems often start down there, not at the unit, so we look before we start replacing parts you may not need.
- Plain explanationsYou get told what broke and why, in words that make sense. If a repair is a short-term patch on an aging system, we say that out loud so you can plan instead of guessing.
- One crew, six statesWe serve homeowners across Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Same approach in every one: show up, diagnose properly, repair what needs repairing, leave the space clean.
- All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
- Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
